The best time for ice cream? ALWAYS.

Gone are the days of plain old chocolate-dipped ice cream cones, today ice cream parlours are taking it to a whole other level! From Sweet Jesus to Bang Bang Ice Cream, we're seeing wildly creative ice cream cones loaded with extra sweets all ready to satisfy your sweet tooth cravings.

One of the newest addition to the Toronto ice cream scene is Fugo Desserts located at 205 Dundas St. W. just off of University Ave. The owners, Jethro Kwan and Jie Dai, opened the store Spring 2016 and has every Toronto foodie wanting to try their sweet creations.

From an array of "cones" to soft serve and traditional ice cream, their themed menu is growing with new additions, along with their fan favourites "S'mores on S'mores" and "Cookies n' Dreams". In addition to their special creations, they also have asian-inspired soft serve ice cream flavours like Earl Grey Tea, Thai Tea and Hong Kong Milk Tea.

Regardless, if you're looking for an Instagram worthy photo or want to try their hand crafted creations, Fugo Desserts is the place to be!

Review

During our visit we got to try their ever so popular, "S'mores on S'mores" and "Cookies n' Dreams".

"S'mores on S'mores"

Are you drooling yet?

The "S'mores on S'mores" is two scoops of homemade Skor-brownie ice cream topped with marshmallow fluff that's blow torched sitting inside a waffle cone and further encrusted with more marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate.

As a S'mores lover, this is definitely a treat that captures memories of sitting around a campfire!

"Cookies n' Dreams"

Remember all the Oreo's we used to eat when we were kids?

To transform our childhood snack and turn it into literally, "Cookies n' Dreams", Fugo's take involves three scoops of cookies n' cream ice cream topped with Oreo's and Hershey cookies n' cream, sitting inside a waffle cone encrusted with more Oreo's!

This is surely the perfect treat for any cookie monster!

Score Card

Taste [4.5/5] - The desserts we found were a perfect balance of sweetness and the Fugo cone was definitely a favourite! However, we would have loved to try the Egg Waffles and soft-serve.

Environment [2/5] - The store itself is quite small with only a few tall tables but has a a very big chalkboard wall that you can draw on beside the menu. Good thing is that Fugo is located a short walk away from City Hall and Yonge-Dundas Square - a perfect place to enjoy ice cream and people watch!

Price [5/5] - The prices were fair especially since the dessert was quite big. You can tackle it all by yourself but sharing with a friend will still leave you both satisfied!

Service [4/5] - Other than having to line up and wait (which is expected for a shop that specializes in hand crafted ice cream), the service was great and the staff at Fugo were energized and friendly.

Overall, our experience at Fugo was an explosion of sweetness and creativity and there's no doubt that we'd definitely go back again!
